Praise and Prayer

Praise: Thirty years after it was nationalized by Pakistan's Islamic government, the historic Forman Christian College in Lahore is being returned to the Presbyterian Church and its partners in Pakistan. Will Browne, the denomination's associate director for ecumenical partnerships, said it's hard to "overestimate how important the recovery of Forman Christian College is to the Christian community in Pakistan." The news came after Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf launched a manhunt to find those responsible for a grenade attack against the International Protestant Church in Islamabad March 17 that left five persons dead and 45 wounded. Musharraf, himself a Forman Christian College graduate, is expected to attend the formal ceremony Oct. 5 marking the college's return to the church.
