Ex-Priest Leads Bible-Burners in Tbilisi

Georgian Orthodox Patriarchate Daniil Datuashvili has condemned a Bible-burning incident in Tbilisi Feb. 3, led by defrocked Orthodox priest Basil Mkalavishvili. "We are demanding that the government take immediate, serious measures to arrest all those who took part," said Datuashvili.

The Baptist Union in Georgia reported that about 150 people arrived at the ministry's warehouse, led by Mkalavishvili. They burned thousands of Bibles and other books.
