Sudanese Plane Bombs Humanitarian Aid Center

A Sudanese military plane bombed a humanitarian aid center on Feb. 10, according to Victor Akok, civil commissioner for Aweil East County in southern Sudan. The attack took place in Akuem, killing a 9-year-old child and injuring six local residents, Akok stated. Seven bombs were reportedly dropped, as a crowd of civilians gathered at Akuem's airstrip where the U.N. was distributing food. Akok called the bombing a "deliberate and barbaric terrorist attack" and urged the international community to intervene.
