Our True Goal Is Christ, not Heaven

I'm sorry, but the true goal of the Christian life is Christ, nothing else. This idea that the goal is heaven is a major flaw in our thinking and in our preaching because it leads many to trust religion rather than out Savior. Paul said "I want to know Christ..." and the times that he talked about going to heaven it was always to be with Jesus, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Heaven is only heaven because of the presence of Christ. Without Him, it would mean nothing.
