New French Bible Introduced

The International Bible Society (IBS) recently introduced a revision of the French Bible, La Bible du Semeur, at an elaborate four-day ceremony in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. IBS is now distributing the Bible in 19 French-speaking countries of Africa via bookstores, churches and launching ceremonies. Alfred Kuen, a well-known Swiss theologian and chairman of the revision committee, describes the new version as a "natural and accurate translation. It reads as if the Bible were originally written in French."
