Praise: Revival has broken out in an Alabama prison, and the prison chaplain expects the spiritual awakening to grow. Steve Walker, chaplain of the Bullock County Correctional Facility in Union Springs told Assemblies of God (AG) News that 1,000 to 1,500 inmates have made a commitment to Christ by new conversion and rededication in the last three years, largely because of faithful prayer. Attendance at prayer meetings has increased from 20 to 142, with gatherings in three different locations. Walker anticipates the revival to continue with a swelling prison population, as county jails send their convicted inmates to the state's prisons by October to relieve overcrowding. "It feels like we're standing in the middle of an orchard, and a wind is blowing apples off the trees," Walker said. "It's harvest time!"
