A Mighty Long Journey: Reflections on Racial Reconciliation

by Timothy George and Robert Smith, Jr., Ed

This book contains essays by eighteen pastors and Christian leaders who relate how believers have come to grips with racial reconciliation. As one would expect from that many writers, different viewpoints are emphasized. However, a common themes run through most of the essays: Christ died for all, Christians are commanded to love everyone, God does not discriminate, and it is sinful to hate another.

The book title suggests another common theme: We have come a long way toward racial reconciliation in this country. But the journey has not been completed. We will not have arrived at our destination until we accept others as Christ would have done. That will lead to genuine reconciliation.
